Artwork Submission Guidelines
Artwork
All submitted artwork should be product ready and at the desired size for specified application including sculpture rendition, dye sublimation, imprint or abrasive glass etching. Artwork that is not production ready will be corrected at a charge of $60 per hour. No charge is made for correction completed in less than 30 minutes. Please read our guidelines carefully before submitting artwork.
Accepted Application And File Formats
Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or higher (.psd), Adobe Illustrator 10 or higher (.ai), Adobe Acrobat PDF (.pdf) TIFF image format (.tif). Lossy image file formats including JPEG (.jpg), GIF (.gif) and PGN (.pgn) are not production ready and will not be accepted for final submission.
General Guidelines
- Submit original artwork only. Half tone, pre-screened, pre-tinted, or thermographic printed artwork and scanned images thereof, can not be used.
- When submitting artwork for sculpture rendition, please submit a black on white artwork silhouette and one artwork color reference (if required).
- Photographic images should be created in Adobe Photoshop using a least 300 dpi
- Images saved in less than 300 dpi will not be accepted including images saved at internet native 72 dpi.
- Save all artwork in the native file format used by your application.
- Vector artwork should be created in Illustrator. Use a 1000 dpi resolution or high for scanned line art.
- Thin lines and some artwork may not print at desired thickness under certain circumstances and we reserve the right to make small adjustments to in copy, logos and artwork to adapt it for imprinting/etching process.
- We prefer that all actual fonts used in your artwork (not embedded into the file). Convert all fonts to outlines when it is not possible to send the actual fonts.
- Please indicate the approximate desired size of the printed, imprint or abrasive etching artwork. The maximum printable area (including photographs) is listed along with each item in our online catalog. If an imprint size/area is not specified, we will use our discretion.
Submitting Artwork
Artwork is accepted when sent via postal mail, email or internet. Please limit email transfer to less than 5mb per submission. Please include the following information with your submission:

Processes Limitations
Not all image processes are suitable for all production applications due to inherent limitations in the printing/imprinting/sculpting technology. Sculptural renditions of logos, line art and limit of eight large letters can be produced on the surface of the sandstone of no less than 1/16th of an inch.
Setup Charges
A standard setup charge applies to all first-time orders. When two or more imprints process/sculptures process are combined, all applicable setup charges will apply.
Abrasive Etching on Glass
- $30.00 for etching custom logos
- $15.00 for straight line copy
Second location etching is available for $8.00 per piece.
Copy Changes
- $15.00 for every change of copy
Sculpture
- $60.00 for second location sculpture art
Metal Etching
Brass, black satin tone, silver tone and copper metal are available. Specify in advance.
- $30.00 for etching custom logos
- $15.00 for etching straight line copy
Personalization
Personalization options are described in each product description and must be specified at time of order as a typed list in plaintext format. Not all personalization processes are available for all products.
Method of Personalization
Fill in Sandstone Lettering
Fill in sandstone lettering only available as basic block caps san-serif face (similar to Ariel) with individual letter no shorter than ¾" high (26 pt).
Abrasive Glass Etching
$3.50 per piece up to two lines
Metal Plate Engraving
Plate cost is $0.25 per square inch (sized to your specifications)
Engraving costs are $2.50 for single line and $1.00 for each additional line
Production Time
- 10 to 15 working days

- Rush Service is available. Contact us for specifics.
- Less than minimum quantities are available on certain products. There is a $60.00 charge for this service.

We will provide free proofs via email
Standard production time is required following proof approval
Cancellations
Orders canceled while in production are billed for cost incurred (artwork, materials, production time, etc.)
Return Policy
Return request must be register within 30 days of shipment. Contact us to discuss problems and obtain a return authorization number. Returned products require a return authorization number to be accepted.
Product Variations
- Every item we make is a unique work of art as the fired sandstone process creates different patterns and color combinations for every piece that can not be duplicated.
- All weight and dimensions shown in the product description are approximate.
Product Photos
Product and logos accompany the product description are for illustration the basic product and the ability to include messages and artwork on them, but are never intended to suggest that the specific pictured product is readily available to all purchasers without the permission of the owners of the trademark, copyright, artwork or copy.

Samples
- Random product samples are available at end-quantity pricing, plus shipping cost. Samples returned within 30 days in original condition only incur out-bound shipping costs.
- Pre-production samples required for client approval will incur cost based on unit price (based on quantity ordered), and any artwork and setup charges that apply. Any subsequent revision will incur appropriate artwork and setup changes in addition to those initially incurred.
- Spec samples are available at end-quantity pricing plus applicable artwork and setup charges. Any revisions will incur additional charges.
Shipping
- We use USPS, UPS and FedEx for normal ground delivery.
- We use our best judgment to select the shipment method.
- Normal shipments are F.O.B. Blaine, WA 98230.
- Rush, sure dated orders should be discussed with us before a firm commitment is made. Routing of rush orders must be submitted by the customer, and authorized for air shipment when necessary. Our responsibility ends when merchandise is accepted by carrier. Split shipments; $5.00 (net) each.
- Blanket orders are invoiced in full at regular terms upon completion of first shipment
- Distributors who submit purchase orders with "will advise" shipping method must modify us of specific shipping instructions at lease 5 days prior to scheduled ship date.
- Shipping releases must be completed within six months.
- Fright claims must be initiated by the recipient. Goods are shipped at buyer's risk, with title passing to recipient at F.O.B. point. Sandstone Specialty Awards is unable to guarantee on-time delivery or the safety of goods once turned over to a recognized carrier. All claims must be made by the recipient against the appropriate carrier within 15 days. In every instance, it is essential that all original shipping cartons, packaging materials, and damaged product(s) be retained by recipient until claim is settled.
- Returned product(s) will not be accepted without written consent and return authorization number issued by Sandstone Specialty Awards.
Credit Policy
New Accounts: A credit application must accompany to precede your order. Allow 5 days for credit clearance. If you wish to proceed immediately, please enclose a 50% deposit, or you order can be changed to your credit card.
Established Accounts: Net 30 days. Large dollar volume sales require special arraignments.
VISA and MasterCard are accepted. The following information must be provided to insure proper billing and order acceptance:
